AST - 5 Solar Powered Strobe Tower

• The model AST-5 is an omni-directional medium intensity beacon. It is a solar powered, VHF controlled clear strobe light beacon, and is designed especially for obstruction marking including towers, small mountains, harbor hazards and off-shore obstructions. By utilizing the xenon tube capacitor discharge, a crisp and bright light pattern is produced, allowing further light penetration through haze, fog, rain and snow. The AST-5 is designed to operate 24 hours a day, with built-in intensities at 20,000 candela for day time operation and 2,000 candela for night time operation. An electric photo eye controls light intensity automatically.When combined with our M15 radio control system, the beacon remains on stand-by until radio signal switches it on as required.The AST-5 is designed for installation in remote areas, with the strobe light head base-mountable and suitable for all outdoor locations. Installation is completed at a fraction of the cost of other solar powered and electrically driven beacons.
